Crazy Cross-Stitches to Love

0 Comments 27 April 2010

Here’s another case of “not your grandma’s” crafting. This cross-stitch design is from What Party, who sells completed needlepoint with funny little animals and phrases on them on Etsy. The designer also has a Flickr set of her previous sales and a Tumblr blog (swearing alert in some of the patterns and pictures).

If you’d rather make your own awesome stitched-up phrases than buy them already finished, check out Subversive Cross Stitch (again, swearing alert). The designer, Julie Jackson, offers up patterns to stitch phrases like “Don’t Make Me Cut You,” “WTF?” and “Shut Your Piehole” (those are some of the clean ones). jackson even published a book of her patterns in both English and Dutch.

It’s one little act of subversion, stitched daintily on fabric.
