0 Comments 28 February 2010

So you finally got your business started, and now you are trying to balance your day job, family and life. Marianne Bellino, is a professional life coach, below are her suggestions on time management and staying healthy.

DHNY:When people start their own businesses, they usually keep their day job for a few months or even years. As a life, professional and health coach what advice would you offer so that they remain balanced and productive.

Marianne Bellino 1. Key points to maximizing your time and time management when starting a business?

Discipline and passion are both key to maximizing your time and time management when starting a business. It is most important to love what you are doing so it never feels like work.

DHNY: How do you avoid losing your mind when being pulled in all directions while starting a business?

MB: Balance is the key to not losing your mind.  My daily mantra, which is also the foundation of my business (www.bnbscoach.com), is to “Be Healthy, Be Organized, Be Efficient, Be Balanced (TM)”. And if overall balance seems too daunting at first, start by making sure there is five minutes of fun in each and every day to embrace your inner kid.

DHNY: Tips to staying focused and still enjoying life?

MB: Goal setting is the key to staying focused while still enjoying life. Keep your eye on the prize (whether it is happiness, wealth, health, etc) and ensure that everything you accomplish is helping you to win.

DHNY: How can sleep and a good diet make you a better entrepreneur?

MB: Being well rested and embracing a healthy diet allows you to have clear focus, energy, excitement in your life; as a result you will less stressed and achieve the ultimate in motivation and productivity.

DHNY: How can a life coach help you when starting a business?

MB: A life coach can help you uncover your core thoughts, feelings, strengths, and passions when it comes to starting a business.  Once you uncover these inner desires you will be on the road to success.

DHNY: Should anxiety, panic attacks, and sleepless nights be part of starting a business?

MB: Anxiety, panic attacks, and sleepless nights are most likely an indication that you should stop whatever you are doing that causes these events. With that said, starting a business (which is in your control might I add) should not be causing such internal havoc.
